Media
In my GCSE media studies, I had to create a magazine cover and contents page for a music publication, which was my first time doing something like this. I absolutely loved the experience and was thrilled to receive an A* in media. This success gave me the confidence to pursue media in my A-Levels.
Although I now see areas for improvement, I still look back on this project fondly. It taught me valuable skills in research, planning, design, and photography. |
ICT
|
For my GCSE ICT coursework, I produced a range of materials for an animal shelter, including a website, logo, web banner, poster, promotional video, and spreadsheets for budgeting and staffing. Creating a logo that could promote the shelter was a key part of the coursework, and it was my first attempt at making a logo. I designed a dog's mouth with the shelter's name on it.
For the animated web banner, I had to create a gif animation from scratch, and I was pleased with the final result. The website was coded in HTML, which was out of my comfort zone, but I managed to keep everything cohesive with the same house style. Overall, I was thrilled with my A* grade for the coursework, and I gained valuable experience in designing a range of materials for a client while maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout. |
Music

I'm thrilled to have achieved a Distinction* in Music Technology, as music is a passion of mine, especially playing the guitar. As part of the course, we had to produce both studio and live recordings of songs and come up with a way to promote them. In my group, Yeah Boi, we recorded "Riptide," with me on vocals and ukulele.
To promote our band, I combined my media, film, and photography skills to create a music video. Although it wasn't my best work, it was incredibly enjoyable, and the first time I had attempted anything like it. |
